I am wondering if this could be done. Sometimes my cuts are too fine to be able to use the slider to get them at the right time. I am wondering if you could make it so you can click on the cut list on the right and edit the times so you can refine them?

Just curious, why don't you use the arrow keys or scroll wheel to fine-tune your cuts? Or, change the lower slider range to give you more control.

Also, in the next build, you will be able to use the shift and ctrl keys to give a finer control over the lower slider. Rather than act as a multiplier these keys will act as a divisor for the lower slider. For example if you set the shift=2 and ctrl=5, then pressing both and using the lower slider will decrease its range by a factor of 10. It will be easy to get frame accurate positioning then.

I tried that, I can't move the mouse, or scroll the scroll wheel slow enough to do it. Just thought it would be easier to be able to edit some of the cut times. As right now you click on the cut times it goes to the cut in your video window. I would like it so you can have an up/down arrow thing, that lets you move 1 frame at a time forward or backword, showing in the video window where it is. Not a big issue, just something I would like.

The left right arrow keys can be set for single frame movement. So can the scroll wheel or buttons. Please see Tools>Options>Navigation.

that's what my first mistakes were. i think for beginners per default a frame-by-frame movement should be set for some of the buttons. actually first i thought that a frame-by-frame movement wouldn't be possible at all. then i bought videoredo and after that i took a look into the settings. yeah, i'm lazy.

Dan,

Now that preview mode is working, the functionality of editing the scene list for very fine edit control would be the icing on the cake.

Remind me what we are trying to do here. I don't have any trouble doing frame by frame cut editing.

Dan,

This comes more into play when editing is based more upon what is heard rather than what is seen. Frame by frame edits based upon graphic content is quite easy to do. When editing for the purpose of removing audio (eg. profanity) is to be performed this becomes more of a difficult task. That is where having the combination of the new preview and direct edit of the scene list becomes a vital functionality. Tweaking frames for audio edits is a difficult task. Currently the scene would have to be reselected and replace the old. Being able to directly access the frame selection would make this much easier.

I understand. Will have to think about this a bit, but its probably not going to be addressed until we get V2 complete.

Dan

I understand the desire to get V2 out. I look forward to what you guys come up with.
