hi Dan,

i got a problem with the slider in one certain vob file. i move it to a position and keep mouse butten pressed, but when i release it, it jumps to another location than the one where i released the mouse button. i upped the file cranberries.vob to your ftp.

i decrypted 3 different chapters with dvddecrypter via stream selection, dvddecrypter merged them all together. maybe that's the problem, because sometimes i notice it jumps to the chapter start of one of the two clips.

another strange behavious is that videoredo crashes from time to time when i open a vob file, but then when i try it the second time, it doesn't crash.

regards
Harry

Edit: i now decrypted the chapters separately and everything is perferct. seems there's something different with the dvddecrypter joining function or how videoredo handles the joined streams.

Harry, does it crash when you drag and drop from a Windows Explorer window or using the file requester?

When you say crash, do you mean it locks up or just instantly disappears? I get the same thing happening (VRD disappears on drag and drop) but also sometimes my Windows Explorer windows crash and disappear. (not at the same time though.) Explorer crashes at a higher frequency for me.

I'm using Windows XP SP1.

nothing crashes on my system except for the videoredo window which closes itself when i drag/drop a file into it. but this happens only from time to time. i tried to reproduce the error, but couldn't.

You can't easily reproduce this error. The only way to reproduce it consistently is to run a command file that uses the COM features of VideoReDo to repeatidly open a file and navigate around a bit. In my tests, it will always crash somewhere between the 10th and 50th iteration.

In Build 229, it has never crashed on this test, even with multiple runs of 200+ iterations.

Harry, The strange behavior you are seeing with the cranberries.vob file might have to do with the fact that the top slider will jump to an I-Frame. On short videos this can cause the slider to bounce around a bit.

Try changing the lower slider to a small value (say 10 seconds) and then use it to move around frame by frame. Is the movement more consistent?

We are looking at improving this behavior in a future release.
