Hi,

I was eager to try this new VideoReDo version, thinking that the new H.264 support and the ability to load ".mp4" files would mean it would also edit .MP4 files recorded with the Neuros OSD digital video recorder.

Well, it does not.

When I attempt to load a .MP4 file created with the Neuros Technology OSD, VideoReDo v4 gives me the following error message:

"MPEG4 Part 2 video is not a supported video codec. Unable to load x:\OSD.MP4".

Is there any hope of getting "MPEG4 Part 2 video" supported in this release?.

We have no current plans to support input of MPEG-4 pt.2, sorry.

Thanks Dan.

I´m sorry to hear that. There´s a market for a decent editor for .MP4 files recorded by the Neuros digital recorders.

Currently, I use Quicktime Pro for Windows, the only barely-working solution.

I was under the impression that MP4 files recorded by the OSD were somehow related to the H.264 codec... in fact, the first time I heard about "part 2" MPEG4 was on the VideoReDo error dialog....

According to this page...

http://www.neurostechnology.com/neuros-osd-playback-settings

The Neuros OSD does not support H.264 playback. And all I can find on website about the recording format is that it records in MP4 format. MP4 is a container which supports multiple audio/video formats, so that part is not real clear. However if it can't play H.264 then it makes sense that it wouldn't record in H.264.
