View Full Version : TN Video Thread: Video Dimensions changed?

I recently purchased VideoReDo TVSuite (V3.1.5.564) in order to edit the .tp files (before burning to DVD) that my PC DVR creates. I have two Hauppauge HVR-2250's and use Snapstream Beyond TV as well as the most recent Hauppauge drivers for my cards.
The problem that I'm having is that when I'm attempting to scroll through the show and start to mark a commercial and then try and scroll to the end of the commercial I get this error: "TN Video Thread: Video Dimensions changed" and VideoReDo indicates that I should try and run QuickStream Fix. When I do that QSF seems to do it's job and indicates Output Complete, Input Sequence Errors:1, Audio resync frames removed: 3 So I close the original .tp file and open the .mpg file tha QSF created but when I again try the same thing I still have a problem where I get a message: Problem while seeking to xx:xx:xx:xx, Please consider running Tools?QuickStream Fix.
Does anyone have any idea to to workaround this problem?
Thanks,
- Norm

When you run Quick Stream Fix check the box that says "enable filters". This will open a dialog with a list of all the various resolutions in the file. Select the one that matches the main video you want to keep and then hit OK. This will output a file which only contains that one resolution, deleting all frames which are different, and avoid the error you're running into.
You should also update to the latest beta here...

It has a much more graceful way of handling this problem where it offers to QSF the file automatically with a specific resolution filter already set.

Dan,
When does the "more graceful way" offer occur? (When just manually editing? When starting a QSF? When starting an AdScan?) Does it suggest the specific dimensions, or just offer a selection?
Are you anywhere near having a COM function that would find the most prevalent dimensions in a video?
Thanks

Hi Dan,
I gave that a try and my initial problem was fixed by your suggestion, however I now have a different problem.
I edited the mpg file that was created by QSF with no problems and then saved the results. When I burn that to DVD and watch the DVD there now appears to be an out of sync audio problem where the audio is running ahead of the video.
This is with my current version, I'll have to try and download the beta you pointed me to and see if that has the same problem. If you have any ideas on how to correct this let me know, but if you think moving to the beta would be the better choice just say so.
Thanks,
- Norm

Sorry, a couple quick notes in addition to my last post.
When I play the edited mpg files (using K-Lite Codec Pack and MPC) the audio appears normal and not out of sync.
I realize that VideoReDo can burn DVD's and I haven't explored that feature yet and I used Nero Vision 4.9.7.6 to make the video DVD that appears to play with out of sync audio.

I'm not sure what would cause a Nero created DVD to have out of sync audio. You'd have to ask their tech support about that one.
As for the more graceful method I mentioned... Basically when you're editing if you run into a section with more then one resolution then it pops up a dialog asking you if you would like to QSF with a choice between the two resolutions. It's still not perfect, but it can save you a few steps.

VAP (link in signature) has been enhanced to apply dimension filters as described **here** (http://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/showpost.php?p=67656&postcount=69).
