Dan
Have dowloaded Beta 433
Unfortunately the crash from the initial splash screen has returned

Interestingly, the crash has now gone on the test system here that was crashing with .430...
@murrayt, if you completely uninstall, and then reinstall is the problem still there?
If you install to C:\VideoReDo instead of the standard location, does the problem go away?
If you exit VRD, then move VRDPlus.dll to VRDPlus.dll-hide, and rename VRDPlus2.dll to VRDPlus.dll, does the crash go away?

I am now getting an exit crash with 433, which I never had on earlier versions.
I just installed it over the top of previous version 430, like always. Then I opened it, verified version number, closed it, and crash.
Then tried just opening it, and closing it. Crash.
433 is certainly behaving differently to other betas for me in this regard.
I have not tried the suggestions noted above yet, I will look into that when time permits.

OK, this is interesting.
I just tried again, and if I only open VRD, then go to close it, crash.
But if I open it, and load a ts (Web Scheduler TS-mux) file, then exit, all is OK. More specifically on variations to the sequence...
I tried closing the file, then exiting. OK.
Tried with the file playing, then just closing VRD. OK.

That fits with what I have seen when this occurs
If VRD is started (splash screen) and then exited then crash
If you start it and go on to do something useful and then exit then no problems
It isn't a major drama, just something that is not quite right I guess

I have not had time to try out your suggestion to discern a different behaviour if any

I get that even after an edit - xp pro, celeron d, asus ig80 mobo.
The good news though is it hasn't lost lip synch' on my mce dvr recording, unlike previous versions :-)
Next to try some of my "no vrd" .TS files.

No crashes here.

The good news though is it hasn't lost lip synch' on my mce dvr recording, unlike previous versions That is good news indeed. The developer who worked on that feature will be glad to hear it.
If you are getting any crashes, please substitute the vrdplus2.dll for the vrdplus.dll and let mw know what happens. vrdplus2.dll will not affect any normal functionality. Its used to assist users in the version 1 to Plus upgrade process.

If you are getting any crashes, please substitute the vrdplus2.dll for the vrdplus.dll and let mw know what happens. Changing the dll stops any crashes on exiting. Thanks.

Snap!
I have just done the same. Substituting vrdplus2 for the original vrdplus stops the crash from the splash screen on exit.
Hope that helps
