View Full Version : Crashes due to AV?

For the first time, I started getting crashes after installing build 445 when saving a file after editing. At first, I thought it was the new build. But it appears to be due to my anti-virus (avast!), which I don't normally use but recently installed again because of the WMF vulnerability. After shutting it down, I no longer get crashes with VRD. I wonder if that explains some of the crashes that others have been having?

EDIT: It just crashed again at the end of saving an edited file, so it is not the AV after all. But the file saved correctly, and no harm done. I just have not seen this on the earlier versions.

Jim, Does this happen every time you edit? If so, try downloading the current build. Its the same build number, but has a new build date. There are no changes, but I'd be interested in knowing if it makes a difference.

Dan,
OK, I will try the latest 445. I got the crash maybe half the time or a little less.

But I just noticed that one thing I did differently than in prior installations was to enable the "Reduce CPU priority while saving" check box. I have now un-checked that, and will see if it crashes again. If so, I will post again.
