A feature that would cut out a lot of hassle on my part would be the ability to convert the MPEG you are currently editing to a standard DVD frame size (720 x 640) when you save it. I'm not sure if this would require re-encoding or not to change the frame size.

Unfortuneately, it does require recoding.

720 x 640 isn't a valid DVD resolution.

740 x 480 for DVD, my bad.

The re-encoding part is the part I hate. Oh well, I was hoping you'd say that you could just re do the headers or something.

Thanks anyway,

Kurt

What capture card do you use and can't you just record at a standard DVD resolution to avoid reencoding?

If your video isn't being displayed correct then perhaps we could change some of the headers. This has been discussed before in the thread with the "crop tool" label. There are some ideas and programs discussed in that thread.

However, this won't create compliant DVDs since the MPEG2 frames will have a non-DVD compliant size. Most DVD players will accept non-compliant sizes.
