Hello,
with VideoRedo 2.2.1.470 I have a big problem: the display window shows only a black area :-(
With build 468 there is no problem ....
Kind Regards

There was a change in the internal display driver in 470. Check the status of the YUV option on the Tools>Options>Playback devices. See if switching it makes a difference.

Have all video choices at Playback Devices switched (YUV, Deinterlace) - no change of the effect....

go to shift+Tools>Options and turn the multi-monitor to false. Restart videoredo and see what happens.

Just tried 470 and had the same effect. Black main screen.
Setting Multi-monitor false restored normal operation. I only have a single monitor.

Eugenie and Robert,
What operating system are you running and which graphics card do you have?

I'm also having the same problem with no picture in VRD Beta 470. Changing the YUV settings didn't change anything but turning off the multi-monitor driver, as Dan suggested to Eugenie, has sorted it.
I'm running Windows XP Home SP2 (fully up to date) and a nVidia Geforce 4 Ti4200 graphics card running reference drivers 81.95 (only one monitor attached) in an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard with the nForce2 Ultra400 chipset.
Hope this helps.

Add me to the nvidia card / no video list ... and yes, turning off the multi monitor setting fixed it (like others, I only have 1 monitor) ...

After installing 470 same problem with the same equipment as bitter_old_man.
Multi-monitor was off. Then I tried checking on "use video card YUV Acc." , but continuously black screens. After the next start of VRD I recognized that the multi-monitor option was on !? (without my doing ? - is that possible ?) I switched it back to false an the black is gone. After checking off the "use video card YUV Acc." option too : no black screen anymore !??

Same problem with 470. Black screen at first. Found this thread and turned off multi monitor. All OK now.

Actually, I had a problem. The primary instance of VRD worked OK but if I opened a second instance to edit a second file at the same time, it had a black window but the thumbnails were allright.

Interesting, same here. I just checked now and if I open a second copy of VRD it and load a different video file to the first copy, the second instance of VRD either displays a black screen or it displays the initial frame of the video loaded in the first instance of VRD.
I changed the multi-monitor to FALSE and this problem does not occur. I can open a different video in each instance of VRD.

Add me to the list. Same as therat. Changing the option from True to False allows 2 instances of VRD to play correctly

same here with ati x800 pro. multimonitor=false solves the problem. vrd displays some random image, not the first one, not black, but always the same. i think it's in some buffer or whatever.

Here's the status. With ATI cards, the multi-monitor code works fine if there's a single instance, but shows a black screen on the second monitor. The souce of this problem has been found and fixed.
We are still working on the NVida issue.

go to shift+Tools>Options and turn the multi-monitor to false. Restart videoredo and see what happens.
Use Shift Key while selecting options, from the drop down menu list.

I had the same problem with build 470. I have a single (large) screen attached to a 128MB 6600GT PCI-E, running ForceWare v84.xx.
I had the problem even with a single instance of VideoRedo, but disabling the feature fixed the problem...
Also, don't know if it's a complete coincidence, but since using the last couple of Beta's, I've been occasionally getting "nv4disp.dll Infinite Loop" blue screens, on a system that has previously been rock-solid (and is relatively unpolluted with software).
That said, I've been a big fan of VideoRedo since it first came out, so keep up the good work...

We think we've got the Multi-monitor stuff fixed for Nvidia as well now. A little more QC testing here and we will post a new beta.
Thanks for all the feedback, it really helped.
