Not sure if the local CBS station was having a problem on 11/25 or not. The programs that I recorded that day via MCE only only have left channel audio in VRD. WMP plays both files fine. (So does playing in directly from the MCE)

Examining the Program Info from the files that don't work show the CODEC as AC3, FORMAT as AC3 stream and the CHANNELS as 2.0. All my other recordings report channels as 5.1 channels. I am not sure how to see what WMP think the the audio content is.

Is there a setting in VRD that I am missing that allows me to access both channels by forcing a format?

Thanks

Is it possible there is more then one audio stream? You can check by going to Tools->Select stream. If there is more then one try the other(s) and see if they are 5.1.

That was it.

The files that are working normally their 1st stream (PID x20b) is multichannel and their second stream (PID x20d) in left only. The problem files have the 1st stream (PID x20b) as left only and their second stream (PID x20c) as multichannel.

Thanks!!!
