Winamp plugins for VideoReDo

Here's a cool new feature for you to try out in Beta 481+

Be aware this is experimental and we make no guarantees about performance or AV sync so use it at your own risk.

You can add a Winamp plug-in to VideoReDo.

Click on the menu Tools>Shift+Options>Manual Parameter Settings and scroll down to Winamp Plugin DLL

You will have to specify the complete path to the DLL such as:
C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\dsp_stereo_tool.dll

I have been playing with Stereo Tool 2 mainly.

I have found some work, some don't work and some crash VideoReDo so, once again, use at your own risk.

Once the file path to the winamp plugin is entered, then what? How do you actually use the plugin?

If all is well, you can load a file into VRD and the window for the plugin will also appear.

With Stereo Tool 2 referenced, a second big window will open with all the controls as in the picture.

Nice feature...I tried to use the Stereo Tool to tame down a "splashy" capture card that I have that splatters the audio on female voices. Even the lowpass filter and peak limiting wouldn't work. I guess I'll have to retire the card.

How do you save the changes made with the Stereo Tool? Is it possible through VRD?

Have you set the Options setting in the file save dialog box to force a reencoding of the audio?

Yes, it's working! What a difference it makes to the audio- it's like it's been digitally remastered! Every VRD owner should try this.

What have been your test results so far?

As mentioned above:
I gave Stero Tool 2 a try and it worked but seemed to cause a problem with Windows Media Player. The problem is that once I installed and tried the Winamp plugin all of my video files were associated with Winamp and now I can not get them associated with Windows Media Player. I uninstalled the plugin and Winamp, re-installed Winamp and manually set the file associations but no luck. The video file icon is now a generic one that you usually see when you have a file type with no association. I can associate the video files to Showtime and VLC but not Windows Media Player or Windows Classic Medial Player. Any suggestions?

This plugin will convert single channel mono to output in both channels.

download and install this winamp plugin:

Modify the DSP_CHMX.INI that is included.
Change the original to this:
[General]
LastPreset=7
Presets=7

and add this section:
[Preset7]
Name=Mono>Stereo
Slider1=100
Slider2=100
Slider3=100
Slider4=100

Enable the winamp plugin in VideoReDo as above.

After loading your file, audio will be heard in both channels. Click on the Options button in the file save dialog box and specify MPEG audio. (Don't use LPCM.)

The new file will contain audio in both channels.

You will not see the graphic display of the plugin but all audio will be rerouted to both channels with the modification to the INI file.

Check your file carefully after creation. (This is an unsupported feature.)
