The DVD burner in VRD under WinXP worked a treat.

I recently upgraded to Win7 64 bit home premium (format, installed afresh). The DVD burner in VRD now locked up my PC (ie really froze it) whenever it reached about 98% done (verifying, I think). DVD drive continued to whir like crazy.

Tried v600 and v620a(?) and same deal. Found the VRD burner .exe and made its properties as "XP-SP3 compatibility for all users" and it has worked fine since.

Anyone else experienced this issue ?

I also run Win7-x64 and have not experienced this. One thing you might try is using the SPTD driver instead. To do that you must install the driver from here... (must reboot after install)

Then launch VRD, hold Shift and click Tools->Options. This will bring up a hidden list of options. Near the bottom is one called Burner Protocol, set it to 1 and hit OK. Try your burn again, with compatibility mode turned off, and see if that fixes the problem.
