Hi everyone,

Still having problems :(

I've created a DVD image using Ulead's DVD Workshop (trial version) and then cut and re-joined the VOB's using VideoReDo (as I had to move them to a different computer with a DVD writer, by copying them onto CD-R's)

Now when watching the final DVD I notice that the video/audio 'hangs' for a split second when it reaches a chapter point in the feature... no big deal, I can live with this minor problem.

However, when it reaches one specific chapter point it locks up completely and I have to stop the DVD. I could watch the content AFTER this problem area by selecting the chapter on my chapter select screen, but I'd really like to also have the option of viewing the feature from beginning to end...

Anyone had similar problems when using DVD Workshop with VideoReDo?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Cheers,
John

It isn't clear what you are trying to do. Are you:

1) You have the VOBs on one machine. You split them into multiple files using VideoReDo.

2) Take the multiple VOBs to another machine and piece them together using VideoReDo.

3) Then what? Do you burn a DVD with those VOBs or author them?

If you are burning them without re-authoring them, it won't work because of pointers inside the VOB and IFO files that will no longer be in sync. Also, VideoReDo removes the DVD navigation packets from the VOB files.

Pugman,

Does this lockup occur when you are jumping to a chapter point or just as the video plays?

If it is when you "jump" to a chapter point using the next or back functions on the DVD player, you need to set a different location for the chapter point. In the authoring program, move it 1 GOP to the left or right and set the chapter point and it will fix it. This is a known problem (at least to me if not Ulead!)
