Sony 201 using VOB files

Having bought a very good digicam, the Sony201, I find the bundled software is very poor and almost unusable. All I want to do is to edit my video using Pinnacle Studio 8. Problem is that the Sony only produces VOB files which are no good for Pinnacle. I've just tried VideoReDo and, yes it converts VOB's to Mpeg files, but Pinnacle still refuses to accept them.

What am I doing wrong? Is there any solution? Should I just forget it and never edit any of my videos?

If you like, upload a segment of your VOB file to our ftp site: ftp://videoredo:videoredo@ftp.drdsystems.com/uploads/ Usually about 10 MB is sufficient. Use the Tools>Trim option in VideoReDo to make the selection.

We will then try it out in Pinnacle Studio 8 and see what's going on.
