I am testing VideoRedo and I have a couple of questions before I decide to buy it.

1. After I edit a vob file, is it possible to save the edited file as a vob file or is only mpeg supported in "save as"? If only mpeg is supported, then how do I get the edited file back to a vob file?

2. When I save an edited vob file as an mpeg, it will play with windows media player, but there is no sound. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Garry

Hi Garry,

A VOB file is an MPEG2 program stream file with extra information (Navigation packets) placed there by the DVD authoring program. We don't create a VOB file as you'll need to re-author the edited MPEG to do that.

There can be a number of reasons why you don't hear the sound. Most likely you're using AC3 sound and don't have a suitable AC3 decoder installed for Windows Media Player. VideoReDo has all its own decoders built in, but that's not the case with WMP. Have you tried another program like PowerDVD or WinDVD perhaps?
