MPEG Hybrid VBR

Hi,
I sometimes use VideoRedo to open DVD VOB files and convert them to MPEG2 so that I can use them in Pinnacle Studio 10.

I am now thinking of buying a Panasonic DVD recorder which apparently employs MPEG2 Hybrid VBR.
Will VideoRedo still enable me to open these DVD files and convert them to a format compatible with Studio; I am assuming that this needs to be CBR?
