I ripped a movie with Clone DVD Mobile (also tried DVDShrink) as a mpg file - it plays fine but as soon as I convert it to DVR-MS with VideoReDo I lose all audio. Any ideas?

Also, I currently just using the trial - it only seems to convert a portion of the file when I select QuickStream Fix, I'm assuming this is only because it's the trial.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

P.S. The file has audio when I preview it in VideoReDo so something in this program must be removing it.

Are you attempting to play back the DVR-MS file in Windows Media Center or another player?

Do you have a trial key installed? Help>Request Trial Key

Output is limited to 15 minutes without it.

Does the edited file play with audio if you load it back into VideoReDo?

What are the properties of the file? Press Ctrl+L

- Media Center and Windows Media Player 11

- I installed the key this afternoon. That resolved the time issue but still no audio.

Output is limited to 15 minutes without it.

- Yes. The problem only appears to be with MS players

What are the properties of the file? Press Ctrl+L
- File type PS-MPEG2
-Dimensions 720x480
-Display size 720x480
Frame Rate 29.97
VBV_Buffer 224kb
Progressive: Prog or Int
Encoding MPEG2
StreamID xE0
Aspect Ratio 16/9
Bit Rate 6.000 Mbps
Profile Main/Main
Chroma 4:2:0

Audio:
Stream ID: AC3:0 (x80)
Bit Rate 384 Kbs
Channels 5.1
Sampling Rate 48000Hz

I just tried converting to an mpg file with the same results as DVD-MS - no audio.

Hope this helps.
Thanks!

Do you have an AC3 capable DirectShow audio decoder installed on your PC?

My guess is that you don't, so any DirectShow based players (eg MCE, WMP, etc) are not going to be able to play the audio stream.

Maybe try installing AC3Filter and then see what happens.

Installed AC3Filter and it works perfectly, thanks!
