My camcorder records to a mini DVD.I can play it on my computer but I want to download the mini DVD video to editing software on my computer so that I can delete faulty scenes, add digital stills and, maybe,a narrative. Then I want to burn that movie to a regular DVD which could be played on either other computers or stand alone DVD players.
Can Video ReDo software do this...and if so how does it do it????
VideoReDo can edit the video content of your DVD to remove faulty scenes.
It cannot add stills nor can you narrate a secondary audio track.
We are developing a DVD authoring module for VideoReDo.

Hi Pat...
Thank you for the quick response.
Your new project sounds like just what I need.
When do you think it will be ready??

Hi Pat..
Another question.
If Video ReDo converts the VOB files on the disc to Mpeg could I then move the video to Windows Movie Maker and do the still inserts and narration??

Welcome to the forum, Ray.
Pat and Dan deserve the day off. :)
Of course, either of them may post at any time - they're so dedicated.
They've been working on the authoring package for quite some time.
If you need to make a disc today, don't wait.
When it's ready, they'll tell us.
There are a number of authoring packages listed on the VRD site (see links in my signature, below)
And, there are many discussions of a number of authoring packages on this forum - some are even free.
I'm not familiar with the one you mentioned, but it will likely work, as well.
We users are also very familiar with many of the aspects of disc-authoring, so you may get lots more friendly help than you expected.
Follow the FAQ (or search for any posting by Phd on the subject) on importing the video from your disc.
Once you have one big mpeg file, follow the normal editing proceedures, and output mpeg for the authoring phase.
In addition to the help you can get with the F1 key, you may prefer to read the new PDF file (http://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/showthread.php?t=3559) they recently created.
No timeframe is established for the authoring module.
If you are going to use MovieMaker to insert still frames and narration, a little trick I use for video editing: Cut up the segments of the video in VideoReDo for the sections you wish to modify or not modify. Use the other program to perform your effects etc. and save in exactly the same video format so you only rerender what is absolutely necessary. Rejoin all of the segments in VideoReDo using the Joiner feature. This will seriously cut down your rendering time as the whole file will not need to be rerendered.
