I am using VideoRedo Trial Version
Version 1.6.2 284
Jul 6 2004

Problem

After I have edited out the commercials, I import this file to Dr. DivX so that it will compress it. However, Dr. DivX 1.06 will only be able to scan the first segment.

Things I have tried :

Before I do use VideoReDo to re-export the mpg file, it has no problem with Dr. DivX. If the program was 45 minutes, I get 45 minutes of it in Dr. DivX.

Before I came across VideoReDo, I use to use Ulead Video Studio 8 to edit out the commericals, and that worked fine. I use VideoReDo now because it is able to read the xml file generated from SnapMedia's Beyond TV 3.5, which saves a lot of time, if I could solve this problem.

If I was to export a video mpg with just no commericals, simply snipping the beginning and the end of a video clip. Dr. DivX has no problem giving me the correct duration of the movie file.

Perhaps there are some advance settings that I need to do to make sure VideoReDo exports the same settings as the original footage? Please help.

Nevermind, I solved this by check boxing the option "Default Output Elementry Streams" so that it splits the mpg file into mpv and mpa.

Dr. DivX, then imports the video, and then I select the audio stream, and bingo, the full length of the intended movie.

Just curious, do you have the Movie Factory options enabled in Tools>Options>General?

Yes, I checkboxed this,

You might want to leave it unchecked and see if Dr. Divix will accept the files.

Ah, thank you! What you suggested has worked. And also, the splitting of to mpv and mpa didn't work for me. I reviewed the final version after Dr. DivX has been run, the audio is out of sync with the video, and in another movie clip, the quality is all green and "pixelated".

Thank you for such a timely response. Much much appreciated. A great product you got here, and great support ethics to go with it.

Two thumbs up! 8)

And also, the splitting of to mpv and mpa didn't work for me.The MovieFactory switch will affect both PS output and elementary output. It changes the temporal reference #'s at cut points to bypass a bug in some versions of Movie Factory. Dr. Divix should be more tolerant :)
