Using this with SageTV

Can anyone using this with SageTv tell me how this works?
I'm looking for something that will edit commercials from a show but will still keep it listed and watchable in the 'SageTV Recordings' section of the UI.

If you store the output of VideoReDo in one of the "imported video file directories" Sage will pick up the file automatically.
