Just a quick one, how about an undo button on the main screen.

It would also be great if the Undo feature could take away an accidental or misplaced start or end point. I know there's a way to override such a point, but it's more cumbersome and counter-intuitive than it needs to be, IMO. (Sorry if this has been mentioned or discussed before.)

Once you set a start or end point, there's no way to simply "erase" it, as far as I can tell. You can re-set it (simply by moving it), but I'd really like for there to be a way to just delete it outright if you decide you don't want it after all. In that case, where are we supposed to move it to to get rid of it?
Does that make more sense? :)
There are always a pair of start / end markers on the timeline. When you load a video they are set to the start and end of the program so they are pretty unobtrusive. I guess we would add a feature to move them back to the start / end positon. But since the start and end by themselves don't have much meaning, not sure I see the point.
If you do create a cut and want to undo it, then you can use the Edit>Undo feature to back it out of the cut list.

That just seems cumbersome and unnecessary to me.
I previously used Honestech's MPEG Editor 4.0 and Video Editor 6.0. They include a specific function called "Clear Mark", which just takes away the last in or out mark set by the user. I got used to that, and I miss the function.
If you set a start or end point in VRD, the UNDO function remains inaccessible (greyed out). Could this be changed so that it could UNDO a last action which was setting a start or end point? Just seems logical to me, and it's a convenience to which I had become accustomed in my previous software.
