When you edit in VideoReDo, do you see black pillarbox displayed?

Does it display normally in VideoReDo?

Have you tried setting the aspect ration using the Options button in the VideoReDo File Save Dialog box?

What is "x-2 -dvd "?

Are you saving as a VOB from VideoReDo?

What are you using to author your DVD?

A VOB from VideoReDo is designed to be used with the freeware authoring program dvdauthor and its offshoots. That may be part of your issue.

The image from VLC makes it look like it's anamorphic, but not being displayed as anamorphic - perhaps because you used VideoReDo to alter the aspect ratio flag.

You should note that that doesn't actually change the aspect ratio of what's been recorded - it's simply there for saving when the flagged ratio in the material may be wrong.

What was the initial footage / recording - was it anamorphic widescreen? If so, you won't be able to correct it in this manner.

I have the same problem!!

I have used VideoRedo to create an abbreviated MPEG of my TiVo
recording. It was really easy to do.

However, the problem is that the when I view this MPEG file (in
RealPlayer 10.5 for example) there are large black stripes on the
right and left sides of the video image. The image itself is warped
narrower. You can see this for yourself here: http://www.SaqibAli.org/images/FoxAndFriends.mpg.
This seems odd because when I was browsing the recording in VideoRedo,
it looked perfectly fine.

This problem is actually easy to remedy in RealPlayer. At the top left
of the image is "Full Screen Theater" link. When I click that the
image expands the entire width of the screen and looks fine. However,
the underlying file doesn't change. It still has the aspect ratio
screwed up.

Have you ever seen this problem? Is there any way I can get VideoRedo
to save the file without the aspect ratio being altered?
