First let me say that VideoRedo is great program. The ad detection is awesome and the video quality is fine. However, I do have one problem. I have MCE and have my box hooked up to my cable tv. All my projects have been converting DVR-MS to Mpeg for conversion into DVD. The video has a jitter or a studder as it plays the file back in VRD that carries over into the finished project. I use Nero to re-encode the files to DVD. If I use it on the original DVR-MS file, there's no problem except I'm stuck with the commercials. The only way I've found to clean this up is to run the DVR-MS file in Nero and export it as an MPEG-2 file. I then run that file through VRD using AD detector. That creates another new file that I then have Nero process into a DVD. This is pretty long process and uses up a lot of disk space because I don't delete anything until I'm sure my DVD is OK.
I've set my audio, etc as advised by tech support. I've used a couple of programs to strip the DVR-MS shell from the MPEG that are quicker but I still get the jitter.
I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem.
What version of VideoReDo are you using? Help>About
What are the file properties? Ctrl+L
What capture card are you using?

I'm using a Avermeda TV card that came with my Gateway PC. I have used all versions including the latest upgrade and have had the same problem. It only happens with DVR-MS files.

VideoRedo is now complete!! I updated to the latest beta build 2.5.4.509 and at last the jitter and stutter is gone out of my dvr-ms converts. (And the video is sharper too!!) No complaints about VRD at all now.

Congratulations. ! . :)
Though, I must ask... why was Nero re-encoding your video?
Were you down-converting hi def source?
Were you up-converting substandard (well sub-DVD quality) video?
(No offense if you were - I do it all the time from my satellite feed )
It'd be interesting to see a Ctrl-L paste of what your source material looks like, if you're still monitoring this thread.
Why?
Just because I'm curious, and planning a big involved project very soon, and want to avoid any similar pitfalls ;)

Since VRD is not an authoring program, I used Nero to create Chapters and Menus for my final DVD. Until this Beta version of VRD, I had been trying to get around the jitter/stutter I was experiencing. I had to first let Nero take my DVR-MS files and encode them as an MPEG file in order for VRD to give me a smooth output. I then ran the file I created with VRD back into Nero to create the final DVD with Menus, Chapters, etc. Nero can automatically fit your output to the size disc you're using.
I have Windows MCE with a TV tuner card using a standard cable feed mainly the History Channel shows. Since these shows have about 15-20 minutes of commercials in a 1 hour show, VRD's Ad-detective feature is what got me to buy a full version. :)
