Dan I seem to have got a problem with an mpeg I created with DigiTV about a month or so ago. I decided to edit it today and as it was on commercial TV use the joiner after removing the adverts. But failed after about 5 mins with Ring Error or similar. So I tried again from scratch but it was just the same.
Then I tried to use quick fix directly on to the original mpeg but again still the same. The mpeg is 3.7 gigb and it is generating huge amounts of errors, I'm sending the error log. I'm using v. 295 which worked okay yesterday when I edited Soldier Blue which was on BBC the other night and I've recorded that to DVD no problem. But this one fails even to edit on VRD, any ideas. I don't particularly want to lose it as it's a golden oldie.

My guess is that you have a serious audio loss at 16:46 into the program. You might want to check that out. If that's the case you have the following options:

1) Cut out the offending area manually.

2) Double the video buffer memory and see if that works.

3) Use the Registry hack to increase the buffer memory to a huge value.

If it doesn't appear to be an audio drop out, then let me know and I'll take a look at the file in more detail.

You're correct, distorted sound at 16:46 area then no sound until 18:46. It's far too much to remove from a feature film. Unless I can find the audio elsewhere.

I already have double video memory ticked, but I'm unsure about this registry hack. Has this been mentioned before elsewhere in the forum?

Thanks Dan, managed to retrieve and edit the mpeg and can now view it. Only problem is I'm missing 2 minutes of audio which must have been due to transmission errors. DigiTV has improved a lot with 3.12beta4 but I recorded this on an earlier version. Just waiting on them releasing the final 3.12 version.

Cheers and thanks for all your help
David
