First time here...
I would like to be able to edit down the MCE raw tv recordings (saving HD space), while also having a screen that shows the guide/episode info when I burn it to DVD.... Is there a program that DIRECTLY transfers that information without having to use an editing program and do a lot of typing?

Well, VideoReDo is an editing program.
Many of us use it to trim 1 hour TV programs to about 42 minutes, without commercials.
That's in the USA.

It doesn't take too much typing.
Mostly I use the mouse, and it's pretty easy and fast.
And I don't even use the feature that automatically locates commercials.

What I do with the several episodes of a TV series, or maybe two movies (to make a double feature), is use an authoring program.
If I just want one show on a disc it's a trivial exercise, but if I want two or more shows, I'd normally make a menu.
The Authoring step is not part of VideoReDo, but there are many fine commercial programs (and some freebies) that'll do the job.
A little typing and creativity is involved.
You can simplify it to be pretty bland and fast.
My menues would typically be several lines of text describing the episodes, laid over a background graphic that is related to the show.

Maybe if you gave some examples of your wishes, someone could offer better advice.

Wishes?

1) A way to cut down and save the television program without commercials, but still saving the guide data with each recording on the hard drive.

2) An easy program that would allow the edited program to be burned to DVD or WMV (I have a portable media player) with choices......showing a thumbnail menu.... have the image being selectable for a thumbnail....

For instance: A burned DVD would show a menu with the Show title and the episode title (and also have it able to be edited), along with a secondary window showing the individual episode information.

Also, it would be good if that could be a save-and-replace for the raw recording on the hard drive......

Also, it would be good if that guide info on each episode could be grabbed from other locations...(like SnapstreamTV, BeyondTV....etc.) or even other tv listing programs, like the Digiguide or TV Browser....

Also, the possiblity of being able to transfer and edit raw Tivo would be good.....but I have a Pioneer DVD recorder I do that most with...

A quick and dirty way to do this is to display the info in MCE and grab a screenshot.

Install and enable titling in the latest Beta of VideoReDo and insert the screenshot as a background image in the titler.
