According to the announcement, the last Official release was 2.5.3-500. Is that still the latest official release or is there a later one?

I notice on the VideoReDo download page VideoReDoPlus 2.5.5-512a is available. Is this an official release?

cheers

I just saw at Afterdawn a new update v2.5.6.512. Yet when I open the program it tells me I have the latest version. Why dosen't it reflect the new update?

Wow, how did Afterdawn get updated so fast? V2.5.6.512 is the latest. There no new functinality, just a few fixes.

Sometimes when we have a new release we hold off the version update message for a couple days to make sure we didn't mess anything up with the new release. So far, no reports is issues with this release so we will turn on the update in the next couple days.

Thanks for your quick reply. So far I've got nothing but good things to say about the program. I use WMC for my cable recording and even with start and finish times set, it still needs trimming before going to disc. Very easy to use and quick.

I just wanted to say thank you for the dvr-ms fix. I use VRD to edit HD programs I've recorded on my Media Center and the wait/hang happened at the end of each output about doubling the time to render the new file. So this is a very welcome fix.

I'd also like to say that for what it does, VRD is a great application. I use it regularly to edit mpeg files stored on another networked machine and editing and scrubbing the video across the network works very well. It's a huge time saver not to have to copy the file locally.

Thanks again........... Great product!

With version 3 in beta, if one were to purchase the current version, could they update it to v.3 when it is released?

I know that the next release should have DVD authoring included, which is just what I need, as I currently use a crippled version of Cyberlink DVD Producer that came with my cam-corder. Is there an estimated time of delivery, as I will gladly purchase a new update to VRD when it comes out, as long as it isn't too long a time.
I know that there are free programs, but I have tried several (takes a long time to download on dial up) and I don't have the time to download and then find they don't do what I want, so I'm quite ready to purchase one.

We will be releasing TVSuite, with DVD Authoring as a beta to registered users only, starting late next week. Unregistered users can still use TVSuite, but without authoring.

I believe I understand that we have to pay to upgrade to TVSuite for DVD authoring. If we do not need authoring, we will still get upgrades for VRD? (I'm probably upgrading, but I'm waiting for most of the bugs to be eradicated.)

Yes, TVSuite is an upgrade.

There will be at least one, more maybe a few more, maintenance releases for VideoReDo Plus (V2). Then we will release Plus V3, as a paid upgrade as well. By then the TVSuite upgrade will no longer be offered at currently discounted price.

Both Plus and TVSuite can reside on the system at the same time.

TVSuite offers two additional features that I use. The ability to author (and burn if desired) DVDs and it has a Title Editor that gives you the ability to add custom titles to the beginning of mpegs. The authoring module can also recode to smaller files or from HD to SD during the process. (if I understand your question correctly)

Please search the forum for other discussion, but here's the short answer:
It's been started. No ETA until we get close to a beta.
