Paid for version not working!?

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help me out here? Downloaded the trial copy, used it for a few days, purchased it, got a new registration key...entered it as requested...came to open a video file...the program just shuts down!!

I've sent a request for any help to VRD, but just thought someone on here could maybe offer help a bit quicker?

What version of VideoReDo do you have installed?

What are your PC specs, particularly the operating system?

What is the source of the video, and type of video, that you are trying to load?

Hi HR,

Yes, my apologies for not giving more information. However, I have found the cause of my problem. Looking round other parts of the forum. Someone had a similar concern. The answer was to change the DEP settings (this was in Vista). This answer sorted that problem out.

Now, here's the strange part of mine. I have XP Pro, but over the top I installed Vista Transformation Pack (VTP). I followed the aforementioned instructions but it didn't work for me. So I took VTP off my system, thus reverting back to XP Pro and, yes the program now works without fault.

So, my deductions, VTP is neither Arthur nor Martha. I've now kicked VTP into the dustbin and won't be bothering with that in future.

My sincere apologies to VRD for doubting their product, which actually works faultlessly now. I hope my little 'concern' may help someone else.

It's refreshing when someone finds their own answer, too :rolleyes:
The board -is- a wealth of tidbits.
Biggest problem I had in the beginning, was knowing what key-word to search for. :D

The developers are very good at upgrading the product with new ideas, as well as killing bugs.
We users, are very good at thinking up new ideas, and finding bugs. :cool:
