Just downloaded and tried this program .. excellent ... should do just what
want .. very nice
A question .... I play the recorded DVD onto a standard TV .. ie. 4:3
Is there a way I can enable pan/scan on the resultant DVD....
I so love full screen
TIA

You can convert widescreen letter box to 4:3 by clicking on the output options on the DVD screen. It will recode which takes quite a while, but it should work for you.

Tx for that .. but it is not quite what I was refering to.
I want to keep the original 16:9 aspect ratio on the disk, but there is
a 'pan scan' flag available on the DVD. This means that (if set)
the the DVD player will automagically clip the video to 4:3, if I
am playing on a 4:3 TV.
In other words ... it cuts the picture on both sides so that I get
full height on a 4:3 TV from a 16:9 feed. This is an option
on every DVD player I have used..
Does this explain it a bit better.. ?
Check out DVDFlick.. There is an enable pan scan option.
Mmm .. I could create the DVD onto disk and use IFOEDIT to set the flag.

Let us know if you can get the IFOEdit option to work. We went through this discussion a few years back and I don't believe that anyone was able to get it working. But, if you can we will certainly see about adding it to TVSuite.

Dan,
This is definitely possible (somehow). My current procedure (pre TVSuite) is to edit out the ads with VRD Plus and output to elementary streams. Then author with muxman, generate an ISO, and burn. Muxman has the ability to specify 16:9 content be displayed on a 4:3 screen as Letterbox, Pan and Scan, or Both.
I hope you can find a way to include this feature in TVSuite.
Scott.

Attached is a couple of screen dumps from IFOEDIT on
a DVD created from DVD Flick. Sorry about the size.
DVD Flick does not create menus ... NTSC .. Mmm.
Cheers

We will start experimenting with that setting here and see what happens.

Thanks for including an option to display 16:9 video as either "Letterboxed" or "Pan and Scan" on a 4:3 display. It works perfectly.
Scott :)
