I use VideoReDo to convert High Definition video files recorded on my pvr and converted to mpeg. However when I play the output mpeg files on my pc it is very jerky with sound intermittent. Standard definition video is always ok.
How do I rectify this, and/or output the hi def files to standard definition mpeg.

What application are you using to play the HD mpeg files? It may be that the MPEG video decoder you have installed on your system isn't handling HD files very well.
If you load the MPEG output file from VRD back into VRD, does it play correctly?
What about if you try to play it with an application such as VideoLAN Client, or Media Player Classic (which have their own inbuilt codecs)?

Media Player Classic plays original HD recording ok. VRD does not, although it will read and output an mpeg file, but this file has the same problem (ie jerky and sporadic sound).

What make/model PVR do you use?
What version of VideoReDo are you using? Help>About
What are the file properties? Load a file into VideoReDo and press Ctrl+L, press the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the results here.
What are your system specs? OS + SP, CPU, RAM, video card, audio card?
Try enabling YUV acceleration and DirectSound in Tools>Options>Playback Devices
Also try different video drivers on the same page.
