I am running Vista Business x64

Point 1
When I burnt two DVD's last night, after the disk was ejected, the program reported 4 "Unsupported Operation" messages, clicking OK 4 times put up a "program has failed message from vista", clicking Cancel, brought TVSuite back up and the DVD's both worked fine.

Point 2
Please could you consider an option to drop ready trimmed files in to the DVD burn list.

Good idea. We will consider it for a future release.I second the request. It would be nice to add a file to the list without having to open it first.

It will still open the file, you just won't see it happening.

I don't understand.

Open TVS, Click DVD, there's no option to add a file. "Add current project to DVD title list" grayed out if TVS doesn't have a file open. Dragging a file into the open "DVD title editing list" window gives you the circle-slash.

I guess what we're asking for is a "Add project/file to the DVD title list" option or the ability to drag a file to the DVD title editing list window.

Or am I missing something?

I found it... File > Open Video..., select more than one file and a "Opening multiple files" dialog box appears with four choices, "Add to DVD" is one of them. Very cool. I guess I've never tried to open more than one file at a time before.

I guess it would still be nice to have a Add File to DVD list option, but at least I now have a "workaround".

Same problem here using XP Home. Except I get the error continually until I force dvdburner.exe to close using XP Task Manager.

It happened on build 541 and still occurs on 547.

For those having this error. Are you using the "Delete when done" feature?

Without the option. I'll try with and see if it makes a difference.

Quick test burn completed with "Delete when done" checked and no errors :).

I am getting the same intermittent problem. I am using 547 on XP SP2 and not deleting the files when done.

I've added some additional logging code to the next version so that hopefully we can track this down. DanR is out of town right now, but when he gets back I'll see if he can release another beta build with this change so we can try to figure this out.

I got these messages on two burns a while ago. I never "delete when done" but I do always verify.

FWIW, I did replace the burner immediately after I got the messages because I thought the drive might be the cause and apparently LiteOn doesn't know how to update firmware on SATA drives (none of their SATA drives have any avaialble firmware updates). My XPS has no built-in IDE so I bought another SATA drive (Samsung) and never got the message again. But I can't swear I always or usually got those messages when I used the LiteOn. And as I reported before, the DVDs did play okay even after the "unsupported function messages" so I assumed they happen sometime after the DVD is successfully finalized.

Do any of the others with this problem have SATA drives?

Dan,

I am using an IDE drive. Burning always works the 1st time. Subsequent burns may or may not get the error. Once the error appears, all subsequent burns end with the same error. DVDs are fine. I just get the message after the DVD ejects.

I have to restart VRDTVS to stop the error occurring. It may even need a restart of the PC but I need to confirm this when the error next appears.

I am also running XP MCE and watching programs at the same time if that has any influence on the problem.

Thanks

Scott :)

I am not. Vusta comes up and says VideoRedo has stopped working and the program will close. I had this error with 545 and 546, I just thought it was me.

I think I got this figured out. Fix should be in the next release.

Can you say if there was any effect on DVDs created in the sessions where the messages occured?

It shouldn't have. I believe it was caused by the auto-close feature of the burn closing down the program before the thread responsible for performing the burn had completely exited. However the close function wasn't called until the eject command was called, so by that point the burning process would be done and the disk would be complete.

The new version has been posted. Please give it a go and let us know if it fixes the problem.
