I have a lot of PTS overflows in my Output Complete dialog box

Increase your Output Header bitrate. In the File Save dialog box, press the Options button. If the peak rate exceeds the file bitrate headers for more than a second or two you'll start getting a lot of PTS overflows. That's the first indication that the output bit rate exceeds the file headers.

Error message: Video Dimensions Changed

Process the file through QuickStream fix and select "Enable Filters." When you run QuickStream Fix on a video with changed dimensions, QSF will detect the changed dimensions and split the output file into multiple sections, once for each time the video dimensions change. Load the fixed file into VideoReDo for editing This will then let you edit your files with VideoReDo.

Error message: Unable to play video. Unable to initialize the video display.

Please check the videoredo log.
If you see In the Log: Error initializing video: Can not initialize directDraw interface, Overlay Flag: 0, Accel Flag: 0
The problem is an old version of DirectX

Aspect ratio problem - error during encoder initialization: aspect ratio information must be 1, 2, 3 or 4

Try processing the file through QuickStream Fix first. Tools>QuickStream Fix
In the file save dialog box, click the Options button and set the aspect ratio to the desired setting.

Error 5

The error 5 is because there's a copy of VideoReDo currently open. If you don't see it, then perhaps there's a hidden copy which you can delete via the task manager or by rebooting the machine.

Update - Error contacting server

VideoReDo is automatically checking for an updated version. If you get "error contacting server", please check if you are using a proxy server.

Thumbnail Window Problem TN Video Thread: Video Dimensions Changed -

Load the file into QuickStream Fix. Tools>QuickStreamFix
You can use the "Enable Filter" option in to limit the output to a single video dimension.
You should then be able to edit the file.

Unable to Play Video

This is a hardware issue, not a file issue. It means that the display or audio device could not be opened. You will find additional information in the log file.

Mpeg stream error Audio Ring Buffer Overflow

This error usually indicates a severe loss of video. There are a couple things you can do:
1) First on our Tools>Options>Stream page, make sure the "Double buffer" option is checked.
2) Then, try running Tools>QuickStream fix on your stream.
3) If the above fail, then please email us your videoredo.log file to support@videoredo.com (support@videoredo.com) so we can see what's going on. Include the file as an attachment.

Rename or delete doesn't work after opening and closing a file

This is a function in Microsoft Windows which does not release the folder when an application has used it.
Here are some workarounds:
1) Close VRD.
2) Open a file in a different folder.
3) Use drag and drop which doesn't utilize the Microsoft file open dialog.

Mpeg stream error:No data found for the requested program(s).

On the Tools>Options>Stream page, enable the "Ignore Transport Program Maps" option.
If that doesn't work, then please download and install the latest version of VideoReDo.
While holding down the shift key click on Tools>Options.
Change the following 3 values:
"Number of TS packets to read to find a selected PID: 1000000
"Number of TS packets to read when searching for PAT/PMT: 1000000
"Number of bytes to read when serach for valid TS packet: 2000000

The ignore maps is useful if the program map is missing or wrong.
The other settings are needed for HD material where some of the frames can be very long even in compressed (encoded) format. Or if there are multiple streams in a TS file and there's a number of 188 byte TS packets separating the PIDs we are looking for.
