So I edited a VOB in VRD and the sound is fine in the original VOB and the new MPG.
However, WMP has no sound during playback (mpg).
The audio stream properties are:
LPCM:0 (xA0)
Any ideas how to get the sound working in WMP?
B.t.w., when I output as elementary streams, the wav file is ok.
Did you try playing the original VOB in WMP?

Yes I did. I get no sound or video though.
Could have a configuration issue with your LPCM directshow filters.

I also compressed the mpeg to a wmf (windows movie maker) and sent it to a friend who also cannot hear sound.
Would that cancel out the idea of LPMC filters?
No, the WMF encoder would use the same filters as WMP.

How would I go about re-configuring LPMC filters Dan? Re-install WMP?
No WMP isn't the problem, its the direct show filters on your machine. What you really need to do is run GraphEdit and see what filters MSoft is using for your file.

So I ran Graphedit on the VOB and it shows some boxes/flowchart.

Is this correct? Should I use SysEnum to unregister this?

Actually, the VOB plays ok in WMP.
When I edit and save as MPG, I see an 'error d/l'ing codec' message flash by in WMP when I attempt to play it. That's when I get video but no audio
Open the VOB in graphedit and see if there's a difference.

Damn! After a reboot the vob DOESN"T play in WMP anymore!
Edit: But it does play if I select the file on the dvd ...???
It must be getting info from the other files on the dvd.
VOB's & MPG's show up in Graphedit identically.
The sound will play in Nero ShowTime and VRD, but not in WMP (VOB & edited VOB).
I need it to play in WMP as I have to send the clip to someone.
Any other suggestions?
Peter, No more suggestions re: WMP. Burn it to a DVD and sent him the DVD or all the VIDEO_TS folder.

I d/l'd Tmpgenc Xpress 3.0 Trial and it took the audio (wav) and video files that I separated with DVD Decrypter and re-encoded them to an mpeg that I was able to load into Windows Movie Maker and compress from 40 to 5 meg.
(Whew!)
It plays fine in WMP.
Hope I don't have to go through THAT again!
Thanks for the suggestions though Dan.
