Used 549 to edit and author programmme. Ran burner. Verify selected. Got to "burning completed successfully" progress bar 0%. Then nothing further. My burner continued to run continuously and could only be stopped by restarting the computer. Maybe duff media so tried a second time with the same result. Tried playing the DVDs. Play to end but stop on last frame and do not return to menu. Tried burn with Nero express, no problem. Resulting DVD ok. Have used this version on other programmes before with successful burn.
By the way, why "maximum speed" surely it is better to show the actual speed as Nero does?
Also any news on a fix for the "Warning message" problems?
Wishing you all a happy and successfull 2008

Have had this happen to me sporadically. The log shows no problems. I was waiting to report until I could detect some kind of pattern and eliminated local hardware issues. But as long as I'm not the only one, I'm throwing my hat in the ring. This started with 548 and continues with 549. Have also come out with blank media after a "successful" burn process, not a failed burn since I was able to use the same disc to burn to using DVD Architect [Sony]. Again, the log only shows a successful progression of the burn.

Try this version of the burner...
ftp://upload:upload@videoredo.net/TVS%20burner/Experimental/
download both files to your C:\Program Files\VideoReDoTVSuite\ directory. If you still have the problem then download and install this driver... (must reboot when it's done)
http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads/
then go into VRD, hold down the Shift key and click Tools->Options. Near the bottom of the list there is an option called "Burner Protocol". Set that to 1 and hit OK. This will force the burner to use the SPTD protocol which allows us to grab exclusive access to the drive and prevents 3rd party apps from interfering with the burn.
If none of that works then let me know.

OK, that certainly worked [didn't have to resort to the SPTD protocol]. Three authored and burned projects with no issues. You guys are the best!
Are the new files incorporated into the 551 release? Or do I need to do this again after upgrading? I noticed that the new burn exe is just a fraction of the size of the file it replaced. Never mind, just checked the burner file and it's the new one.
Thanks much and a Happy New Year to all the good folks at VRD.

Yes the change is incorporated into 551. The DVD burner is smaller because we broke the burner SDK code out into a DLL. Luckily you didn't have to resort to SPTD because we just discovered that it's broken in the current release. We're working on a fix to get back up and running right now.

Redited project with 551, mux without warning triangles :) followed by successful burn :D
Great work!
Redited project with 551, mux without warning triangles :) followed by successful burn :DThat is good news. DanH has been working really hard on solving the burn issues. I thought we have the warning triangle in the muxing fixed in 551, but I was burning a DVD myself just yesterday with 551 and saw the triangle for about 10 seconds. We should be able to adjust the timing for this in the next build.
