I have a couple of files that play fine on the PC but do not have sound when transferred to a TiVo and played on a TV. The file properties are:

File Type: PS - MPEG2
Encoding: MPEG 2
Video stream Id: xE0
Encoding Dimensions: 704 x 480
Display Size: 720 x 480
Aspect Ratio: 4/3
Frame Rate: 29.97 FPS
Bit Rate: 9.558 Mbps
VBV_Buffer: 224 KB
Profile: Main/Main
Progressive: Prog or Int
Chroma: 4:2:0
Audio Format: 2.0
Audio Stream Id: AC3: 0 (x80)
Audio Bit Rate: 256 Kbps
Audio Sampling Rate: 48000 Hz

and

File Type: PS - MPEG2
Encoding: MPEG 2
Video stream Id: xE0
Encoding Dimensions: 720 x 480
Display Size: 720 x 480
Aspect Ratio: 4/3
Frame Rate: 29.97 FPS
Bit Rate: 9.800 Mbps
VBV_Buffer: 224 KB
Profile: Main/Main
Progressive: Prog or Int
Chroma: 4:2:0
Audio Format: 2.0
Audio Stream Id: AC3: 1 (x81)
Audio Bit Rate: 192 Kbps
Audio Sampling Rate: 48000 Hz

Files that have sound on the TiVo have:
Audio Format: 1.0
Audio Stream Id: AC3: 0 (x80)

It would appear that the TiVo requires Audio Format: 1.0 (is this true?). Does it also require AC3: 0 (x80)?

If so how can I convert the audio formats using VideoRedo Suite?

AC3 is Dolby Digital. You need to make sure your player software is capable of and set up to playback Dolby Digital audio.

Make sure on your Tivo that you have it set to play Dolby Digital.
From Tivo Central, go to Messages & Settings --> Settings --> Audio --> Dolby Digital.

If your Tivo isn't an HD or S3, then you need to have VRD output .mpeg audio.

Edit: After thinking about this, I don't think what I wrote above is correct. There must be something else going on.
