Beta 553 Runtime Error

I uploaded in /robena a file named RunTimeError.ts.

It's a C-band SD recording that makes VR 553 (and before) crash.

It appears as though this clip doesn't have any IFrames. VideoReDo can't open a file until it finds an I-Frame.

That's very weird. VLC plays this file (although no other media player does).

How can there be MPEG2 encoding without I-Frames? I thought that I-frames were the basis of the initial decoding, the remaining frames being only the difference betwen themselves and the I-frame?

I've never seen an mpeg without i-frames, but if you think about it is possible. Eventually there are so many changes that the P and B frames end up accounting for the entire picture. I couldn't do any navigation on it in VLC and notice how the picture just seems to "fill-in" when playing in VLC.

I understand that short of re-encoding to create GOPs, that make any editing impossible.
