I read the many suggestions and have to say that I'm a bit concerened that adding features could mask what the program is really good at when other programs do the the other things very well in deed. Each of use may already be using different "clever" editors, i.e. ones with transitions, text and audio editing. Aren't we asking a bit much of the author to compete with Pinnacle Studio or Ulead Moviefactory etc?

I see videoredo as a toolbox for fixing rogue mpegs rather than a full blown editor. Cutting out really awful areas is one way of fixing them so the program has to be able to edit.

Perhaps more feature in that dept might be useful and more in line with what this programs beats the opposition at? One idea I had was to add blank audio padding where audio was missing rather than dropping video, and the choice being done dynamically when the error was found i.e allowing you to see/hear the effect of the alternate fix's and choosing the one you prefer.

I didn't post this without expecting to get objections but I do believe my view has merit. My desktop currently has about 6 different makes of editing/dvd authring/burning prodocts on it as none of them do everything as well as I would like, but each does something better than the rest!

Videoredo has now been added just to do what it is good at.

P.S. sorry for reposting but the original got stuck at the end of a thread I was reading!
