I've got a few shows I've downloaded off my TiVo S3 and cut commercials out of. When I put them back on the S3 they do not play properly... every 5 seconds they fast forward and then play normally. Completely unwatchable.

This has happened on both SD and HD material. I don't recall for the HD, but the SD material does report a couple of audio frame errors when saving.

Any ideas? I'm using plus, not tvsuite. I bought plus not long before tvsuite came out :( oh well...

So I tried an experiment. I had the NUMB3RS episode recorded on my MythTV box, too, so I edited it from there and attached the TiVo header with TiVo Attach. I transferred it to my S3 and noticed, interestingly, that it glitched in exactly the same spots as the edited S3 recording...

So, that seems to indicate that VRD is doing something to the file that the TiVo doesn't like...

There were no errors reported by VRD upon saving.

I can't help lkinley but will say that I gave-up some months ago, when the TTG/TTCB capability was granted to us S3 owners, for having the same problems as you. I could get the programs off the tivo and edit them, but putting them back onto the Tivo S3 has never worked. Get wierd "racing" glitches in the program every 30-60secs, as if the Tivo gets stopped-up somehow then for a sec or so races to catch up.

I think there must be some problem in "re-encrypting" the external program when it's transferred onto the Tivo.

TivoJerry over at Tivo Community Forums has acknowledged a problem and indicated they had some fixes in the works--as usual tho no projections as to release dates.

Thanks, laserfan, that's exactly what I'm seeing.

Strangely, it only seems to affect interlaced content. All the 720p stuff I've put back on there has had no issues.

Oh well, I guess we'll wait and see what happens :)
