Hi,

I change the PC on which VRD is installed (XP --> server 2003), and I can't get it working.

I'm using VRD TV suite, only to change the audio in my MCE files : audio is AC3, which my extender can't play.

I want to do this in a batch file. I used the batch manager to prepare the .cmd, and get "Open Error for dvr-ms output" as an error.

I looked around the forum and made many trials, without results.

Can you help ?

Thanks in advance.

Here is the .cmd :

@echo off
echo 1/ 1 - Starting: D:\TV enregistr^233e\Un cas pour deux_France 2 _12_03_2008_16_45_38.dvr-ms
cscript //nologo "C:\Program Files\VideoReDoTVSuite\vp.vbs" "D:\TV enregistr^233e\direct\Un cas pour deux_France 2 _12_03_2008_16_45_38.dvr-ms" "D:\TV enregistr^233e\Un cas pour deux_France 2 _12_03_2008_16_45_38.dvr-ms" /t6 /d /q /e
Echo Done

Here is the resulting log :

Windows server 2003 doesn't have support for DVR-MS files. There are some articles about how to add this support if you Google: "dvr-ms server 2003".

Use at your own risk, but do let us know if they work.

Thanks for the info, I'l give it a try and post the result.

But...

I don't want to watch DVR-ms on the 2003 server, only use it to "clean" the files, to be played by a MCE machine and its extender.

I was under the impression that Videoredo doesn't use codecs of the machine, but has its own. Is it right ?

DVR-MS files can only be created by some Microsoft components. There are a situations where we need to take advantage of components that we don't provide. DVR-MS output and Tivo reading are the primary examples. The third would be the VMR video drivers.

Thanks for the info.

I followed your advice, and found an article explaining 3 dll (encdec.dll, sbe.dll, sbeio.dll) have to be copied from a XP machine to the 2003 server, 2 of them needing to be registere (regsvr32...).

No problem to copy them, sbe.dll was registered, but I got an error while registering encdec.dll (path not found...).

Anyway, it now works : even if I'm not able to play the dvr-ms in Mediaplayer on the server (no mpgeg2 decoder installed), VideoRedo works as expected.

My idea is to do the maximum on my server which is always on.

Have a nice day !
