View Full Version : Changing audio stream on an existing project

Hello,

I run several times in the need of selecting another audio stream after having done some work on a given video file.

The problem is, if I do that, all cuts that I already made on my project are immediately erased.

This is painful because that theorically implies that I must restart all my work on that video if I realize that I didn't select the correct audio stream at the very beginning.

I actually workaround this problem by closing the project, opening the .Vprj file with a text editor and changing the number of the audio PID before reopening the project.

But this also suggest that this erasure of all work when changing the audio PID by menu inside the project is really, and even very very very really .... unneeded, and uselessly painful and boring ...

Hello again,

After investigating a little further, it appears that the annoyance stated above has been revealed to me by a problem that seems to exists on build 556, but not in the released version build 549 :

When creating a project, saving it and reopening it, VideoReDo TV Suite build 556 tends sometimes (on some videos but not all) to loose the previously made audio selection and choose another one which is likely to not be the one that I wanted.

Of course, I forgot to tell it, but should be obvious, I was working on files with multiple audio streams (at least MPEG and AC3).

Could you trim and copy a 30-50MB segment of the original file and upload it to us? Tools>Trim and Copy Source File

Confirm that the trim and copy segment has the same problem before uploading.
ftp://upload:upload@videoredo.net/

Create a folder with a unique name and place the file in it.

Send an email to Support@VideoReDo.com and let us know when it has been successfully uploaded.

Let me know which audio track you are selecting and which on it selects upon reloading the VPrj file.

I'm sorry, I can't ... I deleted it 5 minutes before reading your message.

It was a TS file of about 4 or 5 gigabytes, and I now only have the edited and reworked Mpeg2 PS copy that will certainly not have the same problem ...

If ever I get another one, I will send it to you.

Edit :
I found another one, just a little sample recorded from the same TV channel, that have the same problem if edited and saved as a project.

No need to trim, it already has exactly the needed size.
I send it to you.

I can reproduce it. We'll look into it.
