I have tried using both the MCE buddy and D-Cut programs to compress files before opening them in Video Redo. I believe both programs are compliant with the media center, and I'm just wondering if I am doing something wrong, or if Video Redo will not allow this. I know they both seem to convert to wmv files, but I thought VR supported this format. My main reason for doing this is that I am trying to compress some of my videos a bit smaller than VR seems to do.

Thanks for the great program. I'm still trying to learn!

Video Redo does not support .wmv. The best way would to be to edit first with VRD, then produce an output file. Then compress the result.
