Someone pointed out a possible problem playing back VideoReDo edited files on DigiTV and/or DEC2000 playback software. Do any of you use either of these program for playback? If so, have you tried playing edited files through them?

Thanks.

Hi I Have Tried Videoredo V1.6.0.243 With A Couple Of DigiTv Recordings So Far
With Top Class Results When Played Back In Windows Media Player (I Have The Elecard Software Installed) But When Played In The Digi Tv Playback Software The Picture Breaks Up, As If It Were Having Signal Problems

I Like To Use A Set Of Programs Called DVX To Convert The Mepeg2 Broadcast That The Digitv Card Pumps Out To DivX/Xvid, Now I Use Videoredo To Chop The Adverts Out Beforehand The Output From Videoredo Is Not Readable In This Set Of Programs Anymore

Nebula Have Also Included In There Software A Tool To Turn The Mpeg2 Broadcast Into DVD Complient Film But When I Put A Clip That Has Been Run Through Videredo It Sends A Message "Tempereral Structure Wrong In Gop", The Feature Of The Nebula Software Works On Clips That Have Not Been Put Through Videoredo

Hope This Helps

Thanks

We have tons of DigiTV customers, but you need to make a special setting in VideoReDo to use their player.

On the Tools>Options>Advanced Stream turn on the "Align packet data to word boundary" option. Also, I suggest you download the latest beta build. I should fix the temporal reference issue. Betas are available here: ftp://videoredo:videoredo@ftp.drdsystems.com/Betas/

Just checking, but I use DigiTV to record programmes, but don't play them in the DigiTV software, I burn to DVD. So, do I need to turn the option on or off? At the moment it is off.

Cheers,
Adam

For maximum compatability, turn the option OFF if you don't use DigiTV to play the edited files. You can always turn the option back on and re-edit or QuickStream fix to re-align the data to the DigiTV conventions.

Having changed the setting as suggested, the DigiTV player works fine on standard digital TV for me. However I have lost the sound on High Definition TV on the DigiTV and all other players. I wonder if anyone else has this problem

The current version of VideoReDo doesn't support the AC3 sound of DigiTV HD signals. We were on the phone with Nebula on Friday and will be discussing it further with them this week. The next beta will have improved DigiTV HD support, but that is more a by-product of some other HD work we are doing. We might not have full support until later in the week.

We are looking for more DigiTV HD sample files, so if you have any that could be trimmed and uploaded it would be appreciated. Because its HD, a 50M sample would be excellent.
