A one-off problem so far. Error message "Unable to open: (long filename) No PIDs specified when trying to open a transport stream."

This .ts file opens with other software and plays properly. No problems apparent.

I tried to reprocess with ProjectX and with MPEG2Repair but the respective output files would also not open in TVS, with the same error message.

Processing this one-off file does not matter. I reported it in case you needed to tweak TVS in some way. Of course, it would be a bigger problem if it was to happen more frequently.

What did MPEG2Repair report the audio stream type as?

This error is normally caused by having an audio stream that VRD does not support.

Mpeg2 .ts. Normally this type of files would open without any problem and usually would have more broadcast errors than this one.

Try checking "Ignore Transport Stream Map" in Tools>Options>Stream Parameters

dezzy,

There were significant improvements in 557/558 for handling complex program maps, so if you're having problems opening the file with Maps turned on we want to know more.

Can you:

1) Clear your log file (Help menu)
2) Go to Tools>Options>Streams and (a) enable diagnostics and (b) turn off ignore.
3) Open the file, and get the error.
4) Email the log file to us at support @ videoredo.com. Please mention topic=6553 in the subject.

Thanks.

I have a transport stream that I can't open even with "Ignore Transport Stream Map" checked.

It is a transport stream that is video only i.e. it has no audio.

It needs to have both video and audio.
