I have been trying out the trial version of VRDTV for the past few days and have a question.

The default for saving a QSF was set at .mpg, so after running QSF on a DVR-MS file, then doing the Ad-Detective and then re-saving as a DVR-MS file, I was losing all my metadata.

So, I found in the options to save the default QSF option to save as a .dvr-ms in lieu of .mpg. But then after running AD on a couple of files, when I go back in to modify the cuts and jump to the next marker, I get an error stating "Problem while seeking to xx:xx:xx:xx Please consider running Tools>QuickStream Fix".

I re-ran the QSF and saved as .mpg, but then I lose all my metadata when I go to do the final save back to .dvr-ms.

Any idea on why this would be?

Thanks

Is your source file located on your computer or on a network drive? If it takes too long to seek to the next position, you could get the error message you quoted. You will get better performance if the file you are editing is on a hard drive on your computer.

It's a USB connected external hard drive.

It doesn't happen when I do a QSF to a .mpg, only when I do a .dvr-ms. I have got it to work on some .dvr-ms files, but not all.

It will eventually go to the marker, but I get the error message everytime. I guess I will just have to be patient and deal with it as I edit my AD files. I don't want to loose my metadata for the files.

Thanks
