This is a 2-part post, as I'm having two major hangups with my process of converting my growing collection of .tivo files I'm trying to ad-scan and convert to DVR-MS (retaining metadata for use in Vista Media Center). I'm using VRD Plus beta 600 (on day 3 of the 15-day trial right now) and have a I've mostly been using TVAP for automation but have also been playing with VRD's batch mode. For the most part things are working well. But I have discovered that whenever Vista Media Center is running in full-screen (which is most of the time I use this machine, actually) and VRD is called to do an ad-scan, whether by TVAP or batch mode, I get a messagebox with the following error:

I then proceeded to change the renderer VRD uses in the options-> Playback devices -> video driver setting. I tested every available renderer and got the same error with each. I did a little research and found that Vista's Media Center uses it's own special renderer called EVR (enhanced video renderer), and could not find any way to change it. I tested with Desktop Window Manager (DWM, aka Aero interface) on and off, with the same results. I also tested playing a full-screen video with Media Player Classic with VMR9 and repeated the process and did NOT get the error, so I would guess the problem is a conflict between VRD (regardless of the renderer chosen) and Vista Media Center's EVR renderer.
Does this sound like something that is even remotely fixable on the VRD side of things, or is MS's latest proprietary POS (the EVR renderer) to blame for not allowing VRD to operate while it is in full-screen?
So that's the first problem. The second is more of a question about metadata and if you can provide any info that would help the TVAP author, dlfl, implement the setting of a certain elusive metadata field in dvr-ms files converted from .tivo files. The field he has not been able to find a way to set is the recorded date & time field, which VRD seems to always set to the date & time of editing/processing (regardless of the setting of the relevant checkbox in VRD's dvr-ms output options). TVAP can read the original recorded date&time tags from .tivo files, but for whatever reason can't set that field in the dvr-ms files that VRD produces.
I am unsure of the specifics, but I guess I am inviting a dialogue between you and dlfl to see if there is a way to do it, or I could just relay any info back to him via this thread on the TiVo community forums: http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=359550
It would make a big difference to me because the way Vista Media Center handles things, shows are displayed in chronological order and since all the files I've processed with VRD are given the edited date&time instead of when they were originally recorded months ago, they are all shown at the front of the list which doesn't really work for me.
Optimally I'd like my existing ATSC Media Center recordings to blend seamlessly with my converted TiVo recordings in the Recorded TV list. And it's very close except for this one hangup.
Thanks for listening and anything you can do to help!
