When I try to open a HighDef (1080i) *.rec file from my Topfield, VRD says "can't find video stream". SD files seem to work well, is this a general isse because VRD doesn't support HighDef?

From my experience I've never had any trouble opening, viewing, editing or burning to dvd a topfield 1920 x 1080 HD rec file. Granted it's only been 1 hour shows so far but never had a problem yet.
Seems strange you can open the SD.rec but not the HD.
What model topfield do you have?
Will the HD file play on any other app like KMPlayer (freeware), to view .rec file in KMPlayer set file of type to all files.
Which model Topfield?
Can you play the files on your computer with any application?
It is possible the file format is H.264 which we don't yet support.

The model is 7700 HCCI (cable HD receiver).
I'm not sure it creates h264 files, it might.
Haven't tried any other programs, but will post back. I doubt that the files are corrupted, though, because they run just fine for palyback on the machine itself.
Try some other applications and list the properties of the file.
