Could you please add an indicator if the current shown frame is of type I, P or B? Perhaps after the frame number.

It could be done, what is the purpose?

I'd like to add myself to this request... it would be useful for spotting whether a cut would happen on an I-frame border or not, in case one wants to avoid recompression (because of quality paranoia or whatever reason).

Using keyboard navigation it's easy to find I-frames. I have the shifted left and right arrow keys mapped to "move next I-frame". I usually scrub to the area where I want to make a cut, then use the shifted arrow keys to go to the I-frames in that area. If an I-frame is not where I want to mark in or out, I use the unshifted arrow keys (mapped to "move next frame") to get to the exact frame I want.

The keyboard navigation is one of the many things that make VideoReDo such a pleasure to use.

I've been looking for this display-feature myself. Maybe it's possible to get the same IPB-info using shift-keys and paying attention, as in the previous post, but we're talking User Interface here; what works for one person doesn't always work for the rest of us (and vice versa).

So Dan, if it's possible to add this feature, you sure would make me happy :-)

Maybe as an UI-option, which can be switched on/off?

Like aav wrote to cut as near as possible at an i-frame.
Or for analysis e.g. if the source gop size is DVD compliant,
or to see if the gop size changes when commercial begins at digital-TV.

Build 224 is available. There's a new option to enable On-screen display or the frame type or it can also be done from the tools menu.
