The few posts that mention the ATI HDTV card seem to indicate that VideoReDo can edit it's output without significant problems, and that the result (downscaled) can be put to DVDs. Apparently, the "broadcast flag" may change some of this. Before I buy a card, can someone please comment? Thanks in advance, for I really am a "Video_Novice".
Yes, we can edit the HD output from the ATI card. VideoReDo doesn't downscale, the output quality will be identical the input.
Regarding the broadcast flag, if its ever implemented, will be something handled by ATI.

Thanks very much for the rapid, clear and concise answer. I've been using VideoReDo for several months and it's great! The support in the forums is also.

I use VideoRedo all the time with the ATI HDTV Wonder. It is great. My recordings from the HDTV Wonder drop frames sometimes and this throws programs like Nero way off by the end of a show. Now, I just take the commericals out with VideoRedo (which is much faster) and then burn DVDs with Nero. I have a perfect in-sync DVD of what I want and an HD copy to archive if I desire.
(Love the insert extra video frames option instead of removing audio - glitches are still there, but since audio does not break up as much it is not nearly noticeable.)

Thanks again for the responses. I bought an ATI HDTV card and find that I can edit things nicely with VRD. Great software!
I have questions about the card and it's software that are not associated with VRD and so I think are not appropriate for this forum. I've not been able to find a forum that does address them, and I am not able to navigate the ATI website with any luck. Can someone please recommend a forum or two that deal with just the ATI HDTV card?
Thanks in advance.
I would check out the AVFORUM. Don't know if they discuss the ATI HDTV card specifically, but they do talk about other HDTV card such as the Fusion.

Did you mean the AVSforum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/) , Dan? They have a very active section on Home Theater Computers.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did find some answers on the Rage3 forum. Also directed one of the posters there to this forum, since he is having sound sync problems.
