Default Getting Tivo HD content into format (SD) that can transfer back to Tivo2

I have probably 60 or so episodes of Disney/Nickelodeon shows recorded. I set season passes - and some recorded in HD and some in SD. I want to move all those shows from my Tivo HD to my Tivo Series 2. I know I can't transfer HD content as it is. So I've transferred those HD episodes to my PC.

Is there a way I can get these shows saved in a format that can then be transferred to the Tivo Series 2. It would seem this must be possible - but I'm not sure how. And I really need work flow spelled out as well. I can open VideoRedo and open the HD episodes - but don't know what steps to take from there.

    Thanks.
    Lynn.

PS - I want to do this bc. I have a 500GB hard drive in my Tivo Series 2 - which is the one my daugher would use and watch - and it makes more sense to get the shows on there than taking up precious space on my Tivo HD. I just recently upgraded the Tivo 2 internal drive. From now on I'll set season passes for her shows on that Tivo.

The easiest way to accomplish this is using TVSuite.

Author your HD files to a folder on your hard drive. This will convert them to SD.

Afterwards, you can import the DVD folder and save as a MPG.

You can Try using the Auto QuickStream Fix Option in the latest Beta:

Click on the menu: File>Open Title from a DVD and make sure "Auto QuickStream Fix" is checked in the DVD Title Selector window

I authored 9 episodes to a folder on m hard drive. Then I went and opened the folder and have selected save as MPG. It seemed to only grab one of the episodes (26 minutes) and supposedly saved it to mpg in just a few minutes. But I can't seem to open it and VRD suggested Ir un quickstream fix. I'm trying that now - but I'm confused.

When I "import the DVD folder" - I'm not sure how to import the folder. It seems I only imported one episode - although I thought I selected the entire folder.

I don't know why it didn't open - either the one episode or whole folder. Are you saying I have to run quto quickstream fix? What does that do?

    Thanks.
    Lynn.

I have 2 follow-up questions. As an mpg, will Tivo automatically find it when it looks for programs on my pc - or do I have to get it to the right place? I know that should be easy

When you import from a DVD folder, you'll select an individual title.

You would need to auto-QSF each of the titles.

If you have Tivo Desktop installed, you'll need to put the files into the location and have Tivo Desktop send them back.
