Got a TV episode which Encore won't accept after the ads were trimmed out with VRD. It says that the data rate is too high to be DVD compliant, but I've run the file (which is 4Mbps CBR with 224Kbps MPEG audio) through Bitrate Viewer and the highest spike is only just over 6Mbps with an average of 3.9Mbps. I don't know if this spike is causing the problem or not but it occurs at a trim point (although strangely the frames before and after the trim point are virtually identical). I've been using VRD for months with no problems, so I'm baffled by this one. Is there anything I could try short of repeated attempts at trimming the file until I come up with one that works? (By the way, I've tried using the save option in VRD to set the bitrate to 4Mbps, but as the file already contained that info anyway it didn't make any difference).
