VideoReDo TVSuite V4 in VirtualBox 3.1.4 on OSX

Hi,

I've been using VideoReDo TVSuite in Windows 2000 on VirtualBox on OSX for a long time - it works very well with the DirectX player driver for SD Long GOP MPEG2.

Now that V4 is here I have upgraded VideoReDo TVSuite and it continues to work well if I continue to use SD Long GOP MPEG2. If I try to use *any* h.264 VRD crashes.

Got any thoughts why that might be?

Maybe the Mainconcept codecs we use aren't supposed in VirtualBox. We use VMWare / Fusion for our OSX testing so I can't comment on VirtualBox support.

The OP mentioned Windows 2000. H,264 isn't supported by VRD under Win2k AFAIK. Running in a virtual environment shouldn't change that. It normally didn't crash under Win2k, however, it just doesn't work properly. (video corruption, incorrect encoding, etc)

I obviously missed the fact that Win2K is not supported for h.264. I shall go and build a WinXP VirtualBox and see how that does.

Thanks, I missed that piece of information. Although most of VRD seems to work ok on Win 2K, its still not supported.
