Thread: Installing a second beta version

Default Installing a second beta version

Dan i have b446 installed as it works best for me, today i installed also b456. In a different folder, on running b456 all settings as b446 are there. On exiting b456 it crashes as does the previous betas.

But also uninstalling b456 wiped out the settings back to default settings when i next used b446.

Noted aswell that both the vrd Save and Load remembered drives had changed. In that opening them in windows they had reverted back to showing icons. This i usually have set to details.

This i assume is down to the drd registry vrd settings, or similar. It would be nice if new registry settings be made for each second, third or more, multi installs. And when un-installing them the correct registry values deleted only.

When you install beta versions and want to remove them, do NOT uninstall them. It will, as you discovered, wipe out your options settings. Simply delete the folder with the beta version along with the desktop menu. All VideoReDo files are kept in one folder (i.e. no common files), so each beta version can exist independtly.

Thanks i will remember that again, for future multi beta installs.

Dan can you make a fix, i need a new desktop icon for each beta version i install. At the moment it just uses the existing desktop icon. Could you make it so a new icon on install is made from either the given/changed folder name or start menu name.

I installed with VideoReDoPlus b456 (bxxx increasing for each new beta released).

That's not a bad idea. We can make a different icon label (icon image will be the same) and also change the default folder.
